What Clients Say

“I started working with Elaine shortly after I had a big promotion at work. At the time I was lacking in confidence and unsure where to start with the sea of problems I saw before me.

Working with Elaine has helped me to get underneath the issues I perceived on the surface to understand how my own beliefs and character traits are at risk of holding me back. As a result, I’ve changed some bad habits I should have ditched years ago, and acquired some good habits that are going to take me far in the future.

I’m now a more empowering manager and feel confident about giving my staff the freedom to work towards an agreed goal. I am prioritising better at work and dealing with issues more effectively, I have a better work-life balance and my team feel trusted and more in control of their own work.

Working with Elaine has made the difference between sinking and thriving and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anybody.” – Caroline S, Senior Civil Servant

“I met Elaine at a Retreat on Cultivating Emotional Balance and immediately noticed what a special, precious, & beautiful human she is. I felt blessed to be with this wonderful, powerful woman and learnt so much from her.

We started coaching when I was feeling lost. I was going through difficult times. As a graduate I was outside the safe harbours of family and school for the first time.

Looking back, working with Elaine has been one of the greatest investments I have ever made. She challenges me, encourages me, and gives me the tools instead of just the answers. I had been struggling with decision making – it would paralyze me. Elaine has a brilliant mind and heart. With her compassion, love, and care I am now able to see more clearly & choose what is best for me.

We are working strategically for my highest goals & aspirations and becoming my best self. I am no longer feeding the thoughts & habits that are not serving me; instead I am cultivating my dream garden and liberating myself.

I am eternally grateful to Elaine for her powerful, joyful, loving, kind, disciplined mentorship, teaching me how to become an independent adult and bringing calmness, clarity, & strength to my life.”  – Ekin B, artist

“I have thoroughly enjoyed the ease and rapport that Elaine and I established right from the outset, a sense that I could share anything with her and it would be heard with kindness and respect, that alone is an invaluable gift and a conduit for powerful facilitation.

Listening however is just the beginning of what she has contributed to my growth arc this year. Her comments are always insightful and perceptive, grounded in an uncompromising honesty, a powerful presence yet always done without overpowering my inner voice – amazing!

I think what clinches the amazing progress that she has helped me make is the fearlessness with which she has inspired me to then look forward. She has been patient with my baby steps whilst cheerleading and egging on the big leaps! Throughout it all, her gentle wisdom and encouragement have nurtured my self-belief and seen me achieve things that I would only have dreamt of.” – Sushma S, Entrepreneur, Author and Teacher

“Working with Elaine is something that can only change you for the better. And I say “with” as it’s the operative word. As you progress on your coaching, you know that you are not alone. You truly feel that you are with someone who can relate to your own insecurities or fears, who can and will make you realise that you are completely normal and that it is ok to feel the way that you do.

The strategies that Elaine uses to help you think and act on your situation are brilliant and working with Elaine has had a massive impact on me both personally and professionally. Thank you just doesn’t quite cover it!” – Charlotte R, Alumni Relations Manager

“The St Hilda’s Oxford Mentoring Programme (organised by Ming) was amazing in helping to me to connect with supportive alumnae mentors from my subject who provided me with great insights into the world beyond my Science degree, courses to improve my skills and best of all, their experiences on how to successfully make the transition from learning Science to applying their knowledge to real world problems. Thank you!” – JP Ay, Oxford 3rd year student and author of “What’s the Point of School?”

“The mentoring programme that Ming ran at St Hilda’s was so useful to me. I am interested in a career involving medical ethics, and it can be difficult to find career guidance for that as it’s not a common career or something with a clearly defined pathway. Luckily, Ming was able to put me in touch with a medical ethicist and practicing psychiatrist, who kindly emailed with me and sent me some of her work to look over. This was a real stroke of luck as I would like to be involved in medical ethics alongside a clinical career, so it was really great to talk to someone in that position! I am very grateful to Ming for this.” – Oliver Hicks, Oxford 4th year student

Through the St Hilda’s Oxford mentoring network I was put in touch with a senior arts editor at the Guardian. She was open, friendly and encouraging, and offered me thoughtful and practical advice about initial steps I could take to get into arts journalism. The meeting helped to focus my goals and strategies on how to get there. It was great to have someone put the time and effort into speaking to me straight out of university – thank you to Ming for organising the St Hilda’s Mentoring Programme and making it happen! – Jaleh B, Oxford 4th year student
